Anja Breien (born in 1940) is one of Norway’s most renown female filmmakers. She is perhaps most famous for her triology Wifes – a triology inspired by Husbands by John Cassavetes. In this documentary one can see clips from her early short and feature films, as well as listening to her experiences as a female filmmaker in the 1960s and -70s. The film is made for the exhibition «Retrospective: Film and Video Art in Norway, 1960-90»  at the Stenersen Museum in Oslo in 2010, curated by Atopia/Farhad Kalantary.
